Each of these authors are impressive on their own but when they come together something magical happens. If you've read any of the Rogue River or Rogue Winter books then you will be familiar with the setting and most of the main characters. However it's not necessary to have read any of the Rogue book sets to be able to enjoy ““Burned by Her Devotion†is the second & final book in the Rogue Vows series. However it's not necessary to have read any of the other books to be able to enjoy the Rogue Vows set. But you must read Book 1 "Death and Her Devotion" before you start reading Book 2 "Burned by Her Devotionâ€.
This time, the second book of the series really follows on the first one. So this book is not a standalone. Although with different main characters, the story arc was continuing from the first book, so you’ll get lost if you don’t read Death and Her Devotion by Kendra Elliot first.The story started right after the first book ended. Opened with Seth guarding the said murderer in the first book. Things got escalated quickly, became suspenseful in a heartbeat. Love it! We were taken in twist and turn, wondering whether what we knew from the first book is true, what did we miss, what did we look over.From all Rogue River novellas, I would say that this one is the best yet. In such a short story, there were many unexpected twists, things we would never thought before. The emotional flow between the two main characters was so palpable that I felt them right along. I really love this book. I think Ms. Leigh is just getting better with each of her book.
Melinda Leigh’s BURNED BY HER DEVOTION is a gripping story affecting the citizens of Solitude, Oregon as they are still dealing with the aftermath of the murder of TV star Chase Ryan. Her storyline touches on manipulation, attempted murder, arson, and kidnapping. Leigh’s protagonists Seth Harding and his wife find themselves in the middle of unfolding events including ongoing investigations of the murdered TV star, the destruction of The Grange by an arsonist, two attempted murders and deranged stalker.Leigh’s storyline continues moving at lightning speed when a semi-truck runs the two patrol cars transporting the confessed murderer of TV star Chase Ryan off the road. The murder investigation overlaps Carly’s investigation of the troubled daughter abandoned by the missing stalker.The storyline’s pace never slows down keeping readers on their toes challenging them to keep up with each of the curve balls Leigh throws into the mix. Seth’s investigation uncovers clues leading to new dangers and motives. Leigh changes direction of her storyline moving towards the gut-wrenching climax placing Seth and Carly in danger. The author keeps readers’ interest high as she builds up to her explosive ending. BURNED BY HER DEVOTION delivers a fast moving mystery while at the same time adding a little romance and Taylor family time.

Seths investgation uncovers information about the victims life that leads to suspects in the kidnapping. Chase had a crazy stalker and now her 13 year old daughter has also disappeared so they are looking for 2 people and there are plenty of suspects.This is the 2nd and final installment in the Rogue Vows series and it is just as fast paced as the first. This is a novella so it is a short read, but it is guaranteed to keep you turning the pages. A great collaboration between Kendra and Melinda. Craziness does run in Cyndee and Alex's DNA!! Between the rising body count, shootings, and thefts, Solitude has been overwhelmed with Chase 's fans and reporters after his murder. Toby became the poster child 'for one good deed', while Seth and Carly were leading the charge throughout the novella for justice!Great plot, characters, and writing. Unbelievable twist at the end. Must Read!!03/31/19
Things have never changed in all my years. There are still those who would rather take what belongs to someone else than work for what they get. I never believed Toby was the one because they were all too tight. I missed Zane and his little bride but I knew they were still on their honeymoon, but I enjoyed Seth and Carly in this book. They complemented each other the way they worked together. A very neat book. The only bad thing was the way a mother used her daughter. She will need help medically.
In this second book in the series, we learn more about the Taylor Clan & the folks of Solitude. Complex plot, really bad, bad guy. Strong heroine who saves herself. Hero is learning self-control. Great supporting cast. Gotta get the third book.
