About the Author

Alireza Sagharchi, R.I.B.A., is the principal of Stanhope Gate Architecture+Urban Design. Lucien Steil is an architect and academic who has worked with Léon Krier and Maurice Culot in Brussels at the Archive d’Architecture Moderne and has been a visiting critic at universities in Europe and North America. HRH The Prince of Wales established The Prince’s Foundation for the Built Environment to improve the quality of people’s lives by teaching and practicing timeless and ecological ways of planning, designing, and building. Léon Krier has taught architecture and urbanism at the Royal College of Arts, in London, and at Princeton University, Yale University, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Virginia. He received the inaugural Richard Driehaus Prize for Classical Architecture.

Great book for reference to architects around the world

Well written, somewhat detailed, but I loved the pictures and the world tour they give

Contemporary traditional designs I guess means projects with traditional architecture on the exterior that include pitched or angled roof instead of flat roof but with interiors colors toward the lighter shades that are not really traditional but yet contemporary, modern and certainly not dark, very entertaining with finishes and moldings used in traditional designs when there are hardly any in contemporary designs which are accomplished in a very creative but yet comfortable living in a timeless fashion, a dream for many who want to impress not only their senses but their visitors as well. Famous architects with some 100 plus projects from around the world ranging from public to private to residential to institutional, in Guatemala, North Carolina, Cambridge, England, Romania and even Saudi Arabia. Great articles and images which can be entertaining and educational especially if you are putting your own project together. It costs more in Wal-Mart.
