This is a great foundation to learn about Social Emotional Learning. Young people are more and more detached due to technology. The angry and polarized political climate can cause impressionable children to hate. This book lays out the steps for young people to first to understand their own emotions and then the emotions of others which leads to empathy and compassion. This is a short and useful book for any educator, especially a principal.

Used this in my Masters Program and it is packed with great info. I recommend it for all administrators and teachers.

Wanted more info for younger children.

This beautiful book addresses the needs of adolescence, relying on thoughtful research that values the spiritual dimension of human development. Clear and compelling and a wonderful read!

I particularly chose this text and used it when I taught my students. I found it so good that I purchased four copies for distribution among my students. That is evidence of its effect on me and my students.

If you are a teacher, this is def a good read and it gives you some good tips for you and your future classroom! Worth the read and price!

This was kind of boring. I think a great conversation can happen around this topic, but this book was not my cup of tea.

This book deserves a close reading and then a second reading for all educators who are interested in the student as a whole human being. The author asks teachers to engage courageously students spiritual needs without being tied to one religious stream or philosophical bent. It's chapters will guide your thinking as you write your lesson plans to meet the spiritual needs of your students.
